BADGERS this weekend took part in the UK’s toughest Marathon.

BADGERS - Markfield Cross Country 2014

Wednesday 12th November 2104 - We had 2 Badegrs running in the Leicester City Winter 5k series - Race 1. Danny Warren finished 6th in 18:47, Rachael Bunting finished 62nd in 27:02

Saturday 15th November 2014 - Badgers ran at various Parkruns.

At Conkers Parkrun first home was Chris Horton 18:43, also running were Chris Upton 21:31, Monika Lampart 21:33, David Craig 23:07 and Jason Husselbee-Orwin 26:01.

At Brueton Parkrun John Hanson was first home in 21:38, followed by Richard Hill 25:58 and Mandy Hanson 29:10.

At Barnstaple Parkrun Tim Baker finished in 23:23.

Also on Saturday we had 2 Badgers over in Stratford running in the Raceways Autumn Shakespeare 10k. Both runners claimed PB's, Danny Warren finished in 9th place in a time of 37:07 and Maggi Savin-Baden 52:25.

Sunday 16th November 2014

One Badger ran the UK’s toughest Marathon, Hell of a Hill, this marathon consists of 8 loops and 8 steep hill climbs. Karen Thompson ran home in just over 5 hours, she was accompanying an Ex Badger Matt Tonks. Who has ran this marathon everyday from the Tuesday (5 times in total), it was his 99th marathon on the Sunday. He will be running his 100th on 10th December so we all wish him well – he is an incredible runner!

Sunday was the first league race for cross country, held at Markfield, just over 5 miles of mud and hills.
First male Badger home was Danny Warren finishing in 26th place with a time of 35:13. First female Badger home was Monika Lampart finishing in 11th place for the ladies in 42:36.
Other runner were Aaron Chetwynd 37:40, Martin Bell 43:08, Esther McCullagh 44:33, Chris Upton 44:47, Adie Kirkham 44:55, Chris Griffiths 45:16, Neil Gourlay 47:04, Steph White 48:18, David Craig 48:36, Mark Robinson 48:36, Dewi Powell 50:06, Nicola Bowman 50:09, Angela Stallings 51:33, Serena Baker 52:19, Liz Peel 52:39, Pete Wells 55:01, Jason Husselbee-Orwin 55:17, Paul Grubb 55:22 and John Shay 57:17.
