THE WET WINTER WEATHER DOESN'T STOP "BADGERS" RACING

Grace Dieu XC 2016 - BADGERS
While many BADGERS have flown off to the ski slopes, others are still racing Sunday was The Derby Runners Cross Country League - Race 5 at Grace Dieu, a course of mud, hills, wooded areas and streams to cross. The BADGERS were out in force 1st male BADGER home was Jon Pinder finishing 13th with a superb time of 35:49, following was David William-Jackson in 37:52, Chris Upton 43:25, Jared Karim 46:02, recently joined Rob Boland in 48:08, Eamon Thawley apparently was so excited to here the BADGER ‘home Roar’ slipped we metres to go still finishing in 52:38. Dewi Powell 52:58, Ashley Taylor 55:29, Rob Frost 55:55, Stuart Walton 60:48 and finishing not far behind V60 John Shade, well done the guys.

For the ladies Anna Gibino was 1st female BADGER home in 48:13, followed by Nivette Mullan in 50:14, Angela Stallings 51:58, Stephanie White, cross country she loves, accompanied Charlotte Oliver, who not only a relatively new member of BADGERS, it was also her first race at Cross Country finishing in 58:45 and 58:47 respectively. Well done the ladies.

Also on Sunday in Wolverhampton 4 BADGERS took on ‘Tough Guy’, the Annual event started in 1987 raises money for charities and challenges thousands of UK and international competitors with a tough 6 mile cross country run followed by an assault course of obstacles including water, fire and tunnels, its labelled the toughest in the world and not for the faint hearted. Racing home first in 8th place overall was Ryan Bennett, next still within the top 100 was Aaron Chetwynd. Carl HolyOak and Adrian Payne also crossed the finishing line within the top 150 competitors. These are the ‘Tough Guys’ of BADGERS!!!

Saturday saw Park runners at Pontefract, Jon Pinder was 1st overall in 16:11 and Anna Gibino finishing in 6th with 23:14.
At Conkers running were Jason Husselbee-Orwin in 28:54 and Karen Misson in 30:38

At Kingsbury, finishing  2nd overall  position was Matt Tonks in 17:47, following in 3rd David Jackson in 17:56. For the Ladies Esther McCullagh was 3rd overall in 21:33. BADGERS had a total of 18 running, well done all.
