Alan Argyle - BADGERS
In the final week before the commencement if the 2015 Summer League season, BADGERS put the final touches on their preparations by turning up en-masse to Kingsbury Water Park parkrun in Saturday. In second place behind former Badger and Atherstone based 100 marathon club runner Matt Tonks, was David Jackson in a splendid time of 17:39. Adrian Payne set a new PB of 19:59 to become the second Badger back and only the ninth current club member to dip under 20 minutes. Adie Kirkham ran a quality 20:36 while Ashley Taylor managed a PB in 22:01. Other finishers included Chris Upton, the not-so-lesser-spotted-now Mark Robinson, John Savin-Baden, Will Cartwright, Yvonne Feasey, John Hanson, Jessica Welch (PB), Sarah Lea, Paul Grubb, Anna Savin-Baden, Karen Missen, Mandy Hanson, Emily Karim, Vicki Howard and Carolyn Hall. Meanwhile, in the Republic of Ireland, Alan Argyle ran at the Castle Demense parkrun event.

On Sunday, three plucky and somewhat lucky (as the event sold out pretty quickly) runners completed the Sinfin Classic 10k in Derby. Ladies captain Anna Gibiino ran an excellent personal best in 47:32, Serena Baker too notched a PB in 48:56 narrowly beating Mark Robinson to the tape by a single second! Several BADGERS turned out in the Great Midlands Fun Run in Sutton Park, Sarah Cresswell, Richard Hill (1:11), Jo James, Luke Miles (1:16), Judy Dickinson, Gemma Hall (1:53), Sheila Benbow, David Earp (1:03) all did very well, official times are not out until Friday however.

Stuart Walton participated in the 2 mile Whale Ale relays, Stratford upon Avon where yes, you do indeed get some post race ale as a result of your endeavours.

Adrian Payne ran in the UK first OCR sprint event in Essex and managed 6th place in the semi finals, narrowly missing the cut for a place in the finals.

Steph White and Maggi Savin- Baden did the Bosworth Sprint Triathlon and on Monday, the star performance of the (slightly extended) weekend, without doubt went to Alan Argyle, who knocked three minutes of his personal best in the wet and windy Cork Half Marathon running in pretty foul conditions to finish in 1:54:13 and set a new V60 club record in the process.

The summer league kicks off at the Swithland 6 in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire. BADGERS look set to field the strongest side in their short history as the club continues to go from strength to strength.
