BADGERS HAVE FUN IN FRADLEY

The Fradley 10K took place at the weekend with a handful of Badgers getting involved, two of whom achieved personal bests. First back in 42:33 was newcomer Harvey Allen who ran his socks off to record a new best time, just 19 seconds ahead of friend and team mate Carl Savage. Wayne Repton was another in action and the first ladies back were the steady Serena Baker and ladies vice captain Nicki Foden, who ran matching times of 55:52. The first husband and wife combo back were the popular John and Anne Devenney while Stephanie Attenborough ran a new best time of 58:44.

Elsewhere, the Shaken Not Stirred marathons took place in Milton Keynes, another low-key yet highly convenient vehicle for those chasing multiple marathon targets, particularly as there were two held in successive days. Badgers had two such individuals in attendance, brainbox Liz Peel managing her 97th and 98th runs, tantalisingly close to the magic 100 now. She was accompanied as ever by long serving Badgers former chairperson Karen Thompson who moves closer too, needing another seven to reach her goal. Even more impressive was that the duo completed both runs in times under five hours apiece, 4:54:13 and 4:58:17 to be precise. Sublimely measured running that required no sprint finish either.
