UNDERHILL GRABS ANOTHER RECORD

Organised by the Stratford Upon Avon running club the Stratford summer 6 is an ideal opportunity to run a rarely raced distance for standard times or if a class athlete like Liberty Underhill a chance to break a club record. The undulating course starting and finishing at Mary Ardens farm may not be ideal for quick times but the 7pm start time helped with weather conditions.

The club record set by club legend and founder Nivette Mullan was also set at this race four years ago and stood at 43:03 but Underhill stormed around the course in a spectacular 42:09 to take the club record to add to the 5-mile and parkrun records she has taken this year, a runner truly on fire.

The Sandringham 24 an event where you run as many 5-mile loops as you can or want in 24hrs saw the return of Eamon 'Lord' Thawley to these challenging events both on the body and mind. A sterling performance saw this long-time Badger complete 10 laps and therefore 50 miles and a pb at these 24-hour events.

Paul Grubb, a man on a mission headed off to the flat fast Watermead parkrun for a spot of tourism and smashed out a new parkrun pb 22:08. Obviously the new health regime, as well as the new haircut, is paying dividends. Elsewhere at parkrun Dave Hill grabbed himself yet another victory with 17:37 at Kingsbury with Paul Cooper running a venue pb of 26:02
